How can i change the video settings in windows media player for vista?

how can i change the video settings in windows media player for vista....

here's the thing when i try to adjust the video setting in enhancement the slide bars reset them self . all media on my computer shows really dark unless its streaming from the web ..i want to now how i can make it show brighter ....i've already set my screen to 100 brightness but the videos are still very dark....



please help . thank you.How can i change the video settings in windows media player for vista?
You did not say which version, so I will assume it to be 11. Also, it would have been helpful to know what the monitor, the video card, and the drivers.



To adjust the video settings:



1. Click the Now Playing Tab along the top of the Window.



2. On the View menu, point to Enhancements, and then click Video Settings.



3. In the Enhancements pane, move the Hue, Saturation, Brightness, and Contrast sliders to the settings that you want to use.



Note:

To hide the video settings, click the Close button in the Enhancements pane.
